Blackbag Investigations is fully Licensed and Insured Rick Stanton grew up in South Tampa and graduated from  Robinson High School.   After high school Rick joined the United States Air Force in 1971 where he worked in the Cryptology field while stationed in Misawa Air Base Japan and Clark Air Base Philippines.  Once receiving an Honorable discharge  in 1975 from the Air Force Rick joined the St. Petersburg Police Department where he worked in the Communications Department until August 1978.   September 1978 Rick was hired by the Tampa Police Department and upon completion of the Police Academy he was the recipient of the "Award of Merit" for the most outstanding recruit.   During his 24 years with the Tampa Police Department, Rick was assigned as a Homicide Detective in April 1987 until August 2000.   While serving in Homicide Rick was involved in numerous high profiled investigations; oversaw the collection of evidence at crime scenes; testified in several Felony Trials, Suppression Hearings and before the Grand Jury; located and interviewed both witnesses and suspects.   Rick was also a member of the Arson Task Force with the City of Tampa Fire Marshalls Office and the State Fire Marshalls Office.   Training included a Medical Legal Death Investigation School held at the Miami-Dade Medical Examiners Office; Blood Spatter Analysis; Criminal Profiling; Interview & Interrogations.  After retiring from the Tampa Police Department on September 13, 2002,  Rick obtained a Security Clearance with the Department of Defense and worked as a Facility Security Officer for several companies in Tampa that were involved in Government Contracting.  Having a strong desire to get back into the Investigative Field, Blackbag Investigations Inc. was formed in March 2009.
