AirGate Ramp Services refuels Air Tour and Instructional aircraft, tugs aircraft to and from the BiPlane FunFlights hangar and aids passengers entering and leaving the aircraft cockpits. Ramp service also assists passengers while they are walking on the ramp to insure their safety and assists pilots with ramp departure and arrival.
Facilities include those at AirGate Aviation (2022 Aero Circle) which provides BiPlane FunFlights customers a safe and comfortable location for its Air Tour operations.
Aircraft utilize the U.S. Army Air Corp WACO UPF-7 because of its ability to comfortably load and carry two passengers in its front cockpit along with a pilot in the rear cockpit. This original 1941 aircraft was manufactured by the Weaver Aircraft Company (WACO) located in Troy, Ohio and is one of about 50 aircraft of this model still flying. It is a classic open cockpit biplane (2 wings). Its landing gear is of the “conventional” type with two main wheels and one small tail wheel. The UPF-7 is powered by a 220 horsepower 7-cylinder radial engine manufactured by Continental Engine Company, which remains in business providing new aircraft engines for current production aircraft. .
Aircraft are all of the conventional gear tail wheel type used during World War II by the US Army Air Corp and US Navy for primary and advanced flight training. The three aircraft operated by BiPlane FunFlights are recognized as the BEST of the best flight training aircraft ever built for stick and rudder training.
