experience started in our family business, before all the great online applications we have today. It was a bit of the old school “checks and balances” type work. Like many family owned businesses, resources were limited, so I provided a variety of services from bookkeeping, payroll to financial analysis and forecasting. After immigrating from South Africa in the late '90's, I worked as the CFO to a mortgage company. During the boom in the housing industry, I obtained my Florida contractor’s license and built homes in Central Florida, as well as managing the finances of our rapidly growing businesses. he real estate crash and everything came to a screeching halt. This was one of those wake-up-call moments. It was a difficult time financially and personally since I loved the creative challenge of building but it was also a time of deep personal growth since I had to evaluate everything I had done previously to avoid making the same mistakes. Fortunately, with my strong financial background I was able to attain work as a bookkeeper and office manager. Having worked in a family business, my own rapidly growing business, and a large corporation, being self-employed, I have a perspective that I believe will benefit my clients. I would consider myself experienced but still in training since I think we can grow in all aspects of our lives if we can stay open to all possibilities. As your bookkeeper one of my objectives is to be a financial partner, helping you to achieve your goals through an accurate and current set of books. The “everything else” can be having more time for yourself, your family, more time to dedicate to your business or profession. You’ll understand where your business or personal finances stand so you can make smarter decisions. For most people, the "first" question is who can I entrust with my most intimate financial details?
