A major focus of Matt Bauer’s career for the past 15 years has been helping to lead the movement to leverage telecommunications as a force for social impact. His first position was with the U.S. House Telecom & Finance Subcommittee back in the mid ’80s and then went on to found three companies and three nonprofits, one of which was BetterWorld Telecom. Presently, Matt has shifted his time and energy towards co-founding and leading Sparrow Mobile, a start-up which is a national wireless carrier in the U.S. focused on using mobile services, devices and cloud-based apps and content to help end cycles of poverty both in the U.S. and abroad. Matt’s education includes a BA in Telecommunications from Indiana University, an MBA from The George Washington University, followed by executive and remote coursework from MIT and MITX over the past 15 years. Glenn joined BetterWorld Telecom in 2007 and brings 40 years of competitive telecommunications industry experience. He has developed a wide breadth of knowledge about all aspects of the planning, pricing, marketing, sales, and delivery of voice and data services. Glenn manages all of the day-to-day operations at BetterWorld including customer service, technical support, and provisioning, as well as billing, financial/accounting operations, marketing, and regulatory. He identifies and implements new technologies and product solutions tailored to increase efficiency and save money for our clients. Career highlights include launching a telecommunications business in Bolivia; national account sales; product development and management; the implementation of 20 switching centers across the US; managing a 225-person inbound/outbound sales and customer service center; and providing sales support for a large national account sales organization. Glenn holds a BA in economics from Virginia Tech. , Vice President of Business Development & Co-Founder J.P. joined BetterWorld Telecom in the fall of 2002 and brings more than 15 years of sales experience to BetterWorld Telecom. Prior to joining BetterWorld, J.P. worked for MCI, MFS, Westinghouse Communications, Qwest and Level Three Communications. J.P Graduated from West Virginia University in 1989. J.P. and his wife, Lisa, live in Alexandria Virginia. , Director of Business Development and Community Relations A known influencer and former blogger, Pamela comes to BetterWorld with 22+ years of sales and business development experience. In addition to handling BetterWorld’s business development efforts, Pamela also helps direct the company’s corporate responsibility activities. Pamela attended Penn State University, where she was a Tri-Delta and earned a BA in speech communications. She began her career working in a variety of industries, including defense contracting, professional services, telecom, and executive networking. She played an integral role in the revenue stream growth and success of Net2000 Communications, Potomac Officers Club, and ExecutiveBiz, where she became partner. In 2006, she left her sales path to launch the charity, social, travel and lifestyle blog, , which became an online and offline company and brand with tens of thousands of followers and numerous sponsors. She also spent years fundraising for numerous causes in leadership positions. She retired from blogging in March 2016, but continues to be actively engaged in the online community as @pamelaspunch. Pamela is a member of the NVTC Small Business & Entrepreneur Committee and the Alzheimer’s Association of the National Capital Area’s (NCA) Concern & Awareness Committee. She was on the 2017 Fashion for Paws Executive Committee, was a Fundraising Ambassador, and served on Best Buddies of the NCA 2017 Prom Host Committee, the Chance for Life Charity Poker Tournament Host Committee, and will play a part again in Shakespeare Theater Company’s 2017 “Will on the Hill” production. John comes to BetterWorld, with more than 15 years of technology experience in operations and leadership roles for non-profits and professional service organizations. John is well suited as our new Director of Customer Operations and Training, as most recently, he has held leadership roles in two Chicago-area businesses that completed a comprehensive technology modernization project and a long-term plan to go Cloud first. Prior to those positions, John was the Senior Director of Technology for Easter Seals, one of the largest voluntary health organizations in the US. John holds an MBA in Operations from Dominican University and a BS degree from Robert Morris University in Computer Networking. In his spare time, John is an Adjunct Faculty member at a Chicagoland Regional College, enjoys spending time with his family, and is committed to driving to all 48 continental states. He currently resides in Chicago, IL. Jenna is a recent addition to the BetterWorld family after more than a decade of experience in developing and executing marketing strategies, implementing continuous improvement projects and leading high performing teams. Serving as BetterWorld’s Customer Success Manager, she has wide-ranging responsibilities including the company’s day-to-day customer and technical support, VoIP planning, and monitoring and keeping track of all communications-related regulations. Prior to coming to BetterWorld, Jenna spent eight years at Allen & Rocks, Inc., a family-owned and operated business providing quality commercial office, retail space and property management services for multifamily housing communities. There, she managed the development and implementation of company special projects, created and implemented departmental policies and standard operating procedures, and trained employees on new software, systems, and technology. She holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Argosy University.
