Bella Engineering was founded by Dr. Ivan Canino in 2012. Bella Engineering was born from a vision to provide technical expertise to homeowners looking to renovate and increase the resiliency of their homes during a tropical cyclone. Tropical cyclones or hurricanes are a common hazard for inhabitants of the Southeast United States and Island countries of the Caribbean. This threat, in line with conducted doctoral research drives his greatest passions; to help homeowners protect their families from tropical cyclone hazards and to collaborate with academia, state, and industry organizations to improve the built environment by establishing specifications that require the use of resilient building materials. After graduating from Florida International University with a Doctorate in Civil Engineering (Structural and Wind Engineering), Dr. Canino was part of the corporate engineering team of one of the world’s premiere cement and cement products manufacturers. This unique background offers a great insight into the deficiencies of the built environment and the use of resilient materials to correct building inadequacies. Bella Engineering LLC is a regional company, providing design and consulting services in South Florida. Our mission is to help homeowners protect their families from tropical cyclone hazards and improve the built environment by designing with resilient building materials and good engineering practice. Bella Engineering’s team of civil engineers are experts in structures, soils, civil, MEP, construction materials, and tropical cyclone damage mitigation. Commercial or residential, we consult and/or design for new, remodel, and retrofit projects.
