In 1894, the Bearss family settled land in what is now North Tampa. Over 100 acres of that land became orange groves and was passed down through generations. In 1993, Marty and Louise Bearss started selling citrus in paper bags from their orange groves at the corner of Bearss Avenue and Lake Magdalene Boulevard. Their endeavors soon evolved into an outdoor produce market named Bearss Groves. Today, our inventory has expanded to include many varieties of fresh fruits, vegetables, citrus, fresh squeezed juice, plants, jarred goods, Amish products and much more! We offer local, seasonal produce and Mr. Bearss grows seasonal vegetables in a pesticide-free garden. Our goal is to provide the best quality of produce at an affordable price for our customers. Bearss Groves also specializes in seasonal items. We set up huge tents every year to display our beautiful, top quality pumpkins and premium Christmas trees. The current business owner has been involved in the produce market since its inception in 1993, and is very much a part of the Bearss family. We pride ourselves in supporting the local agriculture and business communities. Not only will you save on your grocery bill, but you will be eating the best quality produce.
