Are Beanitos low-glycemic? Yes! Beanitos are low-glycemic because they're made from beans that are packed full of nutritional value without any simple sugars. Unlike corn or potatoes–beans take longer to break down into glucose to give you energy and this means a low glycemic value and more stable blood-glucose levels. Most other chips which are commonly made from corn and potatoes, are high-glycemic foods that can cause unwanted spikes in blood glucose levels. Beanitos are laboratory tested by Glycemic Index Laboratories Inc–an accredited independent third party-and are certified for low glycemic ratings. Are your products vegan or vegetarian? All of our snacks are vegetarian-friendly. Our VEGAN products include Original Black Bean, Simply Pinto, Restaurant Style, Hint of Lime, Garden Fresh Salsa and Baked Skinny Dippers. Our NON-VEGAN products include Nacho Cheese, Honey Chipotle BBQ, Better Cheddar & Sour Cream, Sweet Chili & Sour Cream and Baked Mac n' Cheese Crunch. Are Beanitos products organic? No, our products do not qualify as USDA Certified Organic. However, we are non-GMO Project Verified and contain no artificial ingredients, colors or fillers. We try and use organic ingredients whenever possible! That’s why Beanitos are taking over the chip aisle by storm, overthrowing bad snacks with a delicious bean chip that can easily reduce the empty corn in your diet - while also reigning supreme with the things our bodies need more of, like fiber and protein. Beanitos are available internationally in Canada, UK, Korea, Germany and many more countries. In all of our packaging we've included an 'Allergy Info' underneath the ingredient list saying 'Made in facility that may also use soy, seeds, wheat, corn and tree nuts.' However, to cover the unlikely possibility of inadvertent cross presence of these allergens in our product-and taking into consideration the people with very high susceptibility towards food sensitivities-we decided to declare the following items on a voluntary basis above and beyond the basic ingredient and nutrition labeling requirements stipulated so that consumers can make an informed consumption decision. We did include this statement because some ingredients used to manufacture other products in our plants may contain possible concomitant allergens that could potentially cause a reaction in otherwise differently sensitive individuals (for example: the occasional production use of coconut in other products in our manufacturing plant could cause a related sensitivity even though the coconut is actually a seed from the palm family and is not actually a real nut, and soy sensitive individuals may also harbor a sensitivity to other different legumes). That being said, all of our salted items are made back to back, then the lines are thoroughly cleaned before any seasoned items (such as dairy) run through production. These natural flavors are a proprietary blend of spices to make your chips taste even better, without sacrificing any of our real food and nothing-artificial-ever standards. We can assure you that these natural flavors are truly natural; Our spices come straight from the source and do NOT contain or come from sources that contain corn, MSG, corn maltodextrin, soy, chemical processing, or artificial ingredients/colors. Unfortunately, we are not able to share the exact combination of spices used as it is our proprietary blend but we can assure you it satisfies our high standards for quality and real food ingredients. We believe in using only the best quality ingredients to create real food snacks that are both delicious and nutritious. We do not use corn, or any corn by-products in our base chip and seasoning when producing bean chips. We believe in going the extra mile to make sure the ingredients we use are gluten, corn, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and artificial flavor/color FREE product, always! After some careful consideration, consumer research and lots of snacking, we made the decision to change the sodium content of our sea-salted flavors from 55mg to 85mg. Our optimized sodium levels deliver a more rounded flavor experience based on the results of our tasting panel and consumer research. We understand flavor and sodium content is a personal and dietary preference and everyone's taste and dietary needs are different. We are always exploring ways to improve our product and will be considering different sodium levels in the future. Beanitos uses a non-GMO, high oleic, pure sunflower oil to make our products. This oil is naturally free of trans fatty acids and are not hydrogenated in any way. An independent third party lab test verified this fact.
