Bayside Community Church started as a mission in 1961 and affiliates with Southern Baptist Convention. Bayside is located along the beautiful levee in Foster City overlooking the bay and San Mateo Bridge. Our Church is Christ-centered, biblically grounded, ethnically diverse people called to personal discipleship in Christ Jesus. Our commitment to Jesus propels us to nurture authentic relationships with one another; build healthy churches; transform our communities, our nation and our world; engage every member in hands-on ministry; and speak the prophetic word in love. As a people of prayer, purpose and passion, we are in the forefront of creating a community of faith where people of every race, nationality and culture gather as one in worship, service and ministry. The affirmations which follow carefully specify our teaching position with regard to the major doctrines of Scripture: Mankind is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. By his own choice, man chose to disobey God in spite of warnings regarding the consequences for doing so. As a result, mankind is separated from God and under his condemnation. Holy Spirit is present in the world to make humankind aware of their need for Jesus Christ, dwells in every Christian from the moment of salvation and provides believers with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.
