Bay County Conservancy, Inc., known as The Land Conservancy of Northwest Florida, is a nonprofit land trust committed to preserving environmentally sensitive lands across five counties in Northwest Florida. Established on July 9, 1998, BCC began with acquiring and holding title to 30 acres of wetlands in Panama City. The organization now oversees approximately 286 acres spread across 18 preserves. In recognition of its expanded role beyond Bay County, it updated its name to better reflect its regional conservation efforts. BCC's primary mission is to protect natural resources from development pressures brought on by the region’s rapid growth. As a member of the national Land Trust Alliance (LTA), BCC collaborates with nearly 1,700 similar community-based organizations nationwide, all focused on land conservation for both current and future generations.
