We realized long ago that the key to a successful project is to combine not only an effective product, but also the production capacity to deliver in a realistic time frame and knowledge of the products being installed. As a diver owned company we realize time is money and the last thing the engineer / contractor wants is to have his crew standing idle waiting on materials or fighting a product that simply does not work. HOW MANY PRODUCTS CAN ACTUALLY SAY THAT? Pile-Gard has been manufactured in the United States since 1958. Since that time over 2 million linear feet of timber piling have been protected all over the world by our pile wrap system. As impressive as this may be, the most astounding fact is that all of this was accomplished without the use of any chemicals, pesticides or treatments. Pile-Gard accomplishes this through the stagnation principal of suffocation to exterminate marine bores present in the pile. The system lowers the dissolved oxygen content within the wrap by restricting the exchange of water during the tidal cycle and consequently prevents the leaching of pile preservative into the surround marine environment. This also adds longevity to the piling as it retains the preservative against the piling where it belongs and can provide the greatest benefit to the structural member. The end net result is a win win. Less preservatives in the marine environment, less natural resources consumed for replacing piles, lower impact, lower facility maintenance cost. We are also proud of the fact that we use only sustainable harvested FSC Certified hard woods for all the wood components in our Pile-Gard wraps.
