Barr Associates: With a track record spanning over 35 years, Barr has provided solutions for some of the leading players in virtually every major market where optical filters or thin film coatings are used. It was founded in 1971 by Edgar Barr, a pioneer in thin film filters, who began his career in the 1940s setting up a thin films lab at Polaroid. He established Barr to provide band pass filters to the scientific community which was in need of high performance filters at moderate cost. His character laid the company cornerstone of seeking simple solutions to complex problems through the development of strong customer relationships.
