Who we are
Bacot Academy is a non-profit, private, Christian based school for children with Autism and other disabilities. Although autism is our specialty, we also welcome students with multiple disabilities. We are fully accredited with the Florida Coalition of Christian and Private Schools Accreditation (FCCPSA), and we provide year-round specialized education based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as well as B.F. Skinner’s analysis of verbal behavior.

Our mission
Our mission is to give each student a comprehensive education not otherwise available in our community. We believe that each child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and become productive members of society.
Each student has an individual program that targets specific skills. We implement a systematic continuous plan for generalizing skills learned during therapy. Our programs are data-driven and we regularly record, review and analyze data related to the students program. In addition to structured teaching and small group instruction, we incorporate Natural Environment Training (NET) to ensure that skills are being generalized. We are open to any student age 4-22 that has Autism or other documented disability. Bacot Academy is the only private, non-profit, Christian school of our kind in the area. We utilize a low student to teacher ratio to maximize instruction and learning.
All Bacot Academy’s staff are trained in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which serves as the basis for its educational program. ABA has long been considered the most effective and scientifically validated approach for teaching individuals with autism and other disabilities. Bacot Academy provides a minimum of 22 hours of ABA instruction to students every week. The program is both evidence based and innovative, using tried and tested methods to teach students new skills in creative and inventive ways. Our students receive a quality, well-rounded, and functional education that will help them lead productive, meaningful lives with as much independence as possible.
Three years ago, my son enrolled at Bacot Academy. The public schools failed to provide a healthy learning environment. Since then, my son’s behavior has changed dramatically. My son’s grades have improved and he has learned to be responsible. I have great hopes in his future.
My name is Nick Bacot and I am the reason my mom started Bacot Academy. When I was little I changed schools a lot. I never really fit in and sometimes people would make fun of me. I don’t have to worry about that anymore because here we are all almost the same and never treated bad. We get to take lots of field trips to fun places and I love my teacher. Me and my mom has gotten lots of attention. Sometimes I feel like a celebrity.
We as parents of a six year old son whom has autism, are extremely happy with Bacot Academy. The classroom ratio of teacher to student gives our son and the other students the individual education plan that works best for them. He receives the therapies he needs at school. His teacher has been great with him and with her help. We have seen him communicate more than he ever has. All of the staff makes us feel comfortable and it feels like coming into a family. We hope for continued expansion and success for Bacot Academy. Our appreciation and thankfulness goes out to Bacot Academy’s staff and associated therapist.
