Established initially in New Jersey in 1870 by Richard Salmon Baker and Richard Soltan through the company Soltan & Baker, B&W Quality Growers has a rich history dating back over 145 years. Nephew Albert W. Baker later joined, followed by his son, Richard W. Baker, who eventually handed over leadership to Richard R. Burgoon upon marrying into the family. The current entity name was formed in 1969 when Burgoon merged Soltan & Baker with Donald E. Weaver's watercress operations from Florida and relocated headquarters to Fellsmere, FL, in 1995. Owned by the Burgoon family until 2015, B&W Quality Growers transitioned to a new group of investors under CEO Mark DeLeo.
