He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from FAU in 1991 and continued working on private boats, traveling and fishing until he decided to start guiding. In 1996, AWOL Fishing Charters became a reality. Welcome to AWOL Fishing Charters. Let Captain Carl be your guide for fishing the local waters of South Florida. As a fishing guide for over 20 years, Carl has been guiding customers from Jupiter Inlet south to the Florida Keys and on the west coast to Everglades City, with Fort Lauderdale and Miami’s Biscayne Bay being the main focus. He spends the majority of his time fishing his guests in Biscayne Bay targeting tarpon, permit and bonefish throughout the year. He specializes in fly fishing and spinning rods using live bait and artificial lures.
