Avreo History Avreo® provides EHR for Radiology, RIS, PACS, Dictation, Transcription, and Report Distribution services in a single application, single database system. Avreo is a privately held company headquartered in Charleston, SC. Avreo, Inc. was founded in 1997 as Riptide Technologies. The goal of the fledgling company was to apply the speed and ease of navigating the Internet to the cumbersome task of navigating clinical information in unrelated and often unorganized hospital computer systems. The focus of the company shifted from mere image presentation to developing a system that would integrate the myriad paper-based elements found in typical clinical workflow into a single, end-to-end integrated e-system. Development began on a revolutionary, flexible, component-based Web solution for Radiology known today as a complete RIS/PACS solution. In August 2000, Avreo released the Advanced Radiology Integrated Internet Solution (ARIIS)—the first clinical solution built entirely with Internet technology. Thanks to input from clinicians and beta sites, ARIIS has evolved into the robust product known as interWORKS named to illustrate its capabilities as an end to end complete radiology workflow solution. In October 2000, the company changed its name to Avreo—a word derived from the Greek word for tomorrow. The name change reflects the company's commitment to use tomorrow's Internet technology to provide today's clinical solutions. Avreo Channel Partners Avreo Management Mr. Sloan is responsible for overseeing all corporate operations and Planning. His prior experience in providing medical equipment and services to meet the needs of Radiology Groups, Hospitals and Multi-Specialty Organizations provides him with the clarity and focus required to shape the company into a leading provider of information technology for Radiology. Prior to joining Avreo, Mr. Sloan was President of CMS Imaging, a leading provider of radiology modalities, information systems and services in the southeast. During his tenure the company expanded its revenue base from South Carolina into Georgia, Florida and Alabama. Mr. Fulk is responsible for overseeing operations at Avreo. His prior experience in healthcare IT and management gives him the knowledge and resources needed to provide strategic planning and leadership. Prior to joining Avreo, Mr. Fulk worked as the Chief Information Officer at Orion Medical Management, Tower Imaging and Radiology Associates of Tampa for 10 years. He has extensive experience in application development, support, training, data management, technology infrastructure, data center operations and telecommunication networks. Mr. Nemecek is responsible for Avreo's strategy and expansion of business development to find, manage, and progress strategic partnerships. In addition, Mr. Nemecek uses his broad cross functional healthcare information experience to assist in management of strategy and positioning while cultivating existing relationships with Avreo customers. Prior to joining Avreo, Mr. Nemecek worked in strategic planning, where he focused on the needs of academic medical centers and managed multiple strategic partnerships for McKesson Corporation. Alison McKee, Director of Marketing and Product Management Ms. McKee is responsible for overseeing marketing and product management activities within Avreo including advertising, product documentation, and requirements and specifications research. In addition, she acts as a liaison for customer requested software enhancements and is a member of the product roadmap team responsible for ongoing product direction. Ms. McKee has over 16 years of experience in medical imaging software. Prior to joining Avreo, Ms. McKee worked as a Technical Writer developing comprehensive documentation, interactive online training, and onsite training plans for Aspyra PACS. Mr. Schwalb is responsible for overseeing Professional Services within Avreo including infrastructure management, software upgrades, and resolving challenging technical issues related to both hardware and software. In addition, he acts as a liaison to the Product Management Team to provide information relating to the supportability of the product. Prior to Co-Founding Riptide Technologies, later renamed Avreo, he gained extensive Healthcare IT experience when working for LSU Medical Center in New Orleans for almost 15 years. His most recent position was Assistant to the Dean for the School of Medicine where he was called upon to develop a Technical Support Organization which supported all aspects of the school use of computer technology. Mr. Chesney is responsible for overseeing customer and channel partner services. Prior to joining Avreo, Mr. Chesney worked for a large integrated health care system, Geisinger Medical Center. As a Senior Technical Analyst, he was responsible for IT support management and PACS administration. In addition, he managed hospital networks, hardware, EHRs, PACS, modality installation and management, and created documentation of system wide IT processes. His extensive experience in PACS administration, management, and support provided him with the foundation to manage company-wide customer service operations at Avreo for 7 years prior to taking on his current role.
