At The WELLness Network, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, is committed to educating and expanding the minds of minority women and children in our deserving communities by encouraging mindfulness and physical well-being through yoga and walking, through educational programing via workshops, radio/television, social media and partnerships with community organizations and agencies, as well as building awareness, public policy and political advocacy throughout the Gainesville and north central Florida community. Sisters of WELLness was born out of a desire to bring the “Givers of Life”, women, together to encourage them to take the lead in changing the health picture of their homes, one meal at a time. We are asking women to take their families for a 30-minute walk, just three times a week, and to take inventory of what goes on their family’s plates at mealtime. Start a plan to move away from the Standard American Diet (SAD). SAD is filled with processed food, chemicals and toxins. These chemicals and toxins lead to heart disease, cancer, obesity, premature aging and many other diseases.
