The concept for Assuage Spa was created by Tehjan Sherif Prendiville, who has been working in the field of mental health for the past 26 years. The mission of Tehjan and Assuage Spa is to enhance and enrich overall health by taking a holistic approach to the entire individual. Mind. Body. Spirit. Tehjan is originally from the Middle East and has traveled the world with a special interest in cultural healing. Assuage Spa was created in an effort to incorporate these age-old holistic approaches acquired on her travels. Tehjan is a Registered Nurse who is certified in psychiatric and mental health nursing. As the current CEO of Marnic Health Systems, a clinical consulting company based out of Louisiana, she acts as a consultant for hospital and healthcare systems throughout the country. In addition to providing management and consulting for others, she has owned and operated inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida. Over the last 4 years, Tehjan has sold all of these mental health facilities in order to focus on wellness, beauty, & healthy aging. His practice offers many surgical and non-surgical procedures that help his patients look and feel their best. He is recognized as top doctor for facelifts, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty and skin rejuvenation and more. Marina’s long-time love and passion for skin care and the beauty industry compelled her to pursue a career in aesthetics. She graduated from Florida Academy of Massage and Skin Care in 2002 and since has been avidly implementing the industry’s most innovative and steadfast skin care methods. Marina specializes in the finest non-invasive, preventative and corrective skin care techniques, and make-up artistry. She enjoys helping her clients look and feel their best by assisting them in achieving their personal facial and body skin care goals. The reason Constance chose this profession is her dedication to making others feel better about themselves. Growing up with problematic skin herself, she understands the insecurities that could arise and take affect on one’s well-being. She enjoys being given the opportunity to really change a woman’s image of herself and being a part in her inner beauty shining through. She is dedicated to furthering her knowledge in aesthetics so I can continue to provide her clients with services that are suitable for their needs. Matthew Mahoney is a native Floridian, born here in Ft. Myers and has been a Florida state Licensed Massage Therapist for over 20 years specializing in neuromuscular re-education, deep tissue work and therapeutic massage. Matthew started out in his stepmothers West Palm Beach clinic and has worked in a variety of settings from Pain management clinics, Chiropractic offices, Bed & Breakfasts to 5 star resorts. He has a passion for his field and in helping people obtain the ability to allow their bodies to heal themselves through alternative means, with regular bodily maintenance consisting of massage, exercise, and proper nutrition. Her experiences in the mental health and human behavior fields have enhanced her abilities to serve the Assuage Centers in her position as Community Liaison. Mary's massage career started while she worked as a physical therapy aide in Northern Calif. She has completed 700 hours of massage therapy certifications in 1985 at National Holistic Health Institute, in Oakland, Ca. While practicing massage therapy in the Bay Area, she enjoyed many continuing education courses widely available ranging from Alchemical Hypnotherapy to Deep Tissue techniques. Her interest in injuries brought her to study tendon and ligament injuries at Muscular Therapy Institute in Boston, Ma. Mary's style is eclectic and specific to individual concerns. She has been practicing massage for 30 years and loves providing massage therapy and the results it provides. Mary has also been a licensed esthetician for 16 years. Skin care products, techniques and technology have come a long way to providing results. Facials are surprisingly relaxing, pleasureable and promote healthy skin function. She has completed 2 levels of Dr. Vodder Manual Lymph drainage and incorporate some of the techniques during a facial. Her experience includes workiing in spa settings as well as medical settings. In our busy lives what we often need is support, clarity and direction. Ann works through many offerings such as on-table energy healings, private readings and teaching many workshops and classes. It is Ann's mission to provide all of these things for you through her work with Spirit. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science. My career started out in Health & Wellness. I did cardiac rehabilitation but then concentrated on physical fitness and education. I've worked for various health fitness facilites, as well as a wide demographic of clients. I believe my formal education has attributed to my abilities as a LMT. I transitioned into Holistic Wellness and return to school for my Massage Therapist Degree. I am dual licensed in both New York & Florida. I absolutely love being an LMT! I get to help + educate people, to ensure a higher quality of health & happiness in their lives. I believe in maintaining current bodywork education & professional standards to be able to provide the utmost care for my clients. Originally from the Caribbean twin island Trinidad & Tobago, Tricia-Lee moved to Fort Myers after marrying, bringing with her over 27 years of Spa/Business experience in Development and Management, specializing in design and business concepts. She had an early start in her career from owing her own Spa Business in Trinidad, to working with the Sandals/Beaches chain throughout the Caribbean and short stints in NYC Fashion week with Creative Nail Design as part of The Spa Education team. Denise graduated from Florida College of Natural Health in 2011. She was also a business owner in Tampa, Florida at Pure Kneads Massage Therapy. Denise specializes in Medical Massage , Deep Tissue and Therapeutic Massage. She started out in Chiropractic Offices and as a Physical Therapy Aid in Fort Lauderdale. She specializes in helping people with relief from head, neck and shoulder tension. While firm pressure is her strength, relaxation and comfort is the ideal goal. She personally enjoys helping her clients overcome aches and pains to restore their muscles back to working condition by practicing a more holistic approach versus modern medicine.
