Mission Fine arts such as, arts and crafts, dance, theatre, and music, allow children to express themselves through differentiated means. Self expression is important in growing children and fine arts is the vessel they need to explore those channels. Art-Cademics Academy also provides exposure to youth on entrepreneurship skills, financial literacy and culture diversity; which are important skills to learn during the youth years to create a sustainable life . Art-Cademics Academy, Inc. was founded by Vanessa Pierre in 2015 as a response to the lack of academic-rich, affordable and entertaining summer programs in her community. The mission of Art-Cademics Academy is to effectively enhance the academic and artistic flair of youth by infusing academia, fine arts, recreation, and life skills to build character and socio-emotional development. The organization will collaborate with local agencies to provide exposure to youth on entrepreneurship skills, financial literacy and culture diversity. With an extensive background in education, Vanessa was willing to take on the task of creating a program that would fill the void that affected the youth around her. Vanessa is an active neighbor in the City of North Miami as shown through her participation in various events such as neighborhood beautification, Junior Achievement volunteer and donating over 200 backpacks and school supplies as a sponsor to Mayor Andre Pierre’s Back To School Bash. Ms. Pierre wants Art-Cademics Academy, Inc. to be recognized as an organization known for its unique academic and fine arts infused curriculum. Vanessa is a Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2018 Nominee. She currently serves as a commissioner for the City of North Miami Parks and Recreation, appointed by Mayor Smith Joseph; as well as Quality Education Board, appointed by Vice Mayor Scott Galvin. Miss.Pierre’s philosophy to education is very simple; “Motivation is the foundation to academic achievement.” She believes that when students are motivated, an emotion is evoked within them to strive for something they want to achieve—“The Bigger Picture.” All students are motivated in different ways and until a student’s hunger for education becomes his/her own, educators and mentors must lead them down the right path.
