We have been involved in apparel manufacturing and sourcing business since 1989. Apparel Axis is an extension of our operation in Bangladesh under the brand name of City Apparel Tex-Co. (CATCO).
With a marketing office situated at Oxford Circus, the heart of London’s commercial district, our UK office acts as the first point of contact for international buyers. Our Bangladesh office provides operational and logistical support to ensure production runs as smoothly as possible, checking quality at each and every stage of product development. Highly experienced in compliance, the team also focus on key aspects of corporate and social responsibility audits as well as product testing to ensure that all our products are compliant and can enter the destination market legally.
We have a financial stake in a woven factory at Ashulia, Dhaka, handling our woven tops and bottoms, in addition to a joint-venture agreement with a knit factory just outside of Dhaka, Narayangang. In addition, we make regular use of a few selected local factories to produce specialised items such as sweaters, activewear and home textiles. We have commercial relationships with factories producing for well-known international brands such as Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein. These relationships, coupled with our knowledge of capacity utilisation within and specialisation of each of the factories, gives us a unique advantage to manage production at the best-suited factory for each requirement at assured cost and quality.
We are a fully incorporated business both in the UK and in Bangladesh, which means we can enter into legally binding contracts with both our buyers and suppliers in the most appropriate manner whilst enabling us to protect intellectual property concerns.
Apparel Axis has put together a strong management team led by two successful entrepreneurs. The Bangladesh team, led by Aminul Islam, a textile engineer by training, has decades of experience in the garments sector, both as a manufacture as well as a sourcing agent. Over the years, Aminul has dealt with a variety of garment types, in addition to home textiles and functional clothing. Aminul is also the current Secretary General of Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association, the only such industry body recognised by the government of Bangladesh
The UK team, led by Alam Faruk, an entrepreneur and graduate of the London School of Economics, has a successful background of managing, growing and exiting several brick-and-mortar and online businesses from single outlet to regional multiples and managing franchisees in the fast moving FMCG space.

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
Blake Windsor ® is our platform for ready or nearly ready garments. The key objective is to enable retailers and brands to make use of opportunities in fast-moving market situations. The emphasis is on the ready availability of fabrics and trims and per-arranged production facilities. Showroom samples, including graded samples made of actual fabrics, are available for inspection for all Blake Windsor products. We are also able to accommodate clients’ requirements for a certain degree of customization and exclusivity.
In our experience retailers and brands normally request a full service, from design to stock delivery, to shorten lead times and lower costs for their customers. We are pleased to offer this full-package service to our clients. However, we would be happy to advise on partial sourcing requirements, including apparel design, fabric & trim sourcing, identifying appropriate factories and ‘on the ground’ quality inspection.
