ANDASPAIN, LLC, Plantation

About Andaspain Andaspain is a passionate group of pilgrim guides that makes experience its priority. We have been in Spain and on the camino for more years than we care to count and we would not have it any other way. We are passionate about sharing our experience with everybody we meet. We know that walking long distances in foreign lands can be a big undertaking and our mission is to clear the path ahead for you. We organize every last detail to ensure you can be free to ponder mysteries other than where to spend the night or how to read the menu. From the practical (like what is the best way to lace up your boots), to the curious (what the heck is a gypsy’s arm and why is it on my dessert menu?), we have an answer. We move mountains so long as they are metaphorical. Your experience with Andaspain will always include the attention of one the owners. From either the first contact or to the last glass raised, we will be there to join in your Camino. Justin first walked the Camino de Santiago in 2013 and has been coming back ever since. A University of North Florida graduate with a double major in Spanish and English, he grew up in tranquil Atlantic Beach, often sunrise-strolling the seashore in search of sharks teeth. To the Andaspain team he brings his quiet assurance and love of adventure. He takes great pleasure in identifying the various and diverse flora which grow along the Camino and is always happy to share this knowledge with the curious pilgrim. Javier is one of our expert guides – especially when it comes to bikes. As well as guiding countless walking tours along the Camino and throughout Europe he has a successful cycling company, Ibérica Coast to Coast. We call on Javier for his bike expertise whenever we have a special tour on two wheels rather than two legs. Kris was born and raised in Asturias, Spain. As a small girl, she developed a special connection with the Camino de Santiago when she walked it with her family. Kris went on to study Audiovisual Communication and Design; and today she is able to devote her time to both her passions of creative design and spending time in nature. Kris organizes all our Self-Guided Walking Tours and when she is not doing that, you can find her walking in the mountains of Asturias and continuing to help people to fall in love with The Way in the same way she did many years ago. When lunch is provided by us (check tour details for how many lunches are included in each trip) we will prepare lunch to eat at a picnic spot on the trail. If the weather is bad, don´t worry, we will find a restaurant to eat our lunch out of the rain! On days where we don´t provide lunch, you can stop in one of the many bars and restaurants along the way or pick up provisions to make your own picnic. We will let you know about places to eat. You can buy granola or cereal bars easily, but if you like a particular brand of energy bar, you can bring some with you. We will provide you with snacks and fruit from our support vehicle. Tap water is absolutely fine to drink. There are public water fountains along the trails, but we don´t recommend drinking from them as we can´t guarantee the cleanliness of the water. We will provide you with bottled water while you are walking. We do have to charge a single supplement as we are charged a single supplement by the hotels we use. We know this is a burden for the single traveller and have tried to keep this charge to a minimum. If you are travelling at a busy time of year it´s best to reserve. For hotels in Santiago de Compostela it´s certainly better to reserve in advance. We can help you out if you need advice or assistance booking a room – just let us know. Wifi is sometimes available but not guaranteed. As we are often travelling in rural areas you will find that many villages do not have internet networks. If you don´t already have an insurance provider check price comparison websites such as www.squaremouth.com or www.confused.com/travel-insurance. . After we’ve gotten to know each other, we will email you a link to our top-secret and very secure booking page. That of course is why we are asking for your email address in step 1. By the end of this step you will have confirmed your place, and the places of anybody that will be joining you. This is done by means of a deposit of €300 per person. . Once your booking is confirmed you will immediately be presented with step 3, which can be completed at any time but at least 1 month prior to the departure date. You will get this link in your booking confirmation in case you are a procrastinator. In step 3 we collect a bit more personal information to make sure that everything on the trip goes smoothly. This includes any medical allergies, old injuries that might give you grief, and lastly your passport number for the sake of expediting our hotel check-ins. To make sure that AndaSpain is an ideal fit for the adventure ahead please tell us when you can be reached by phone and we will call you. A Little Bit about AndaSpain AndaSpain was born out of the dream that we could share our We have been close to the Camino de Santiago and in Spain for more than a decade now and every year brings more excitement than the one before it. As our knowledge grows so too does the quality of our walking tours to Santiago de Compostela and elsewhere. We are a specialized operation and we consider the needs of every walker. Before the trip we help plan the logistical stuff. We advise on transportation to and from both Spain and the starting point of the walk. We provide packing lists of recommended items to bring with or leave at home. And we share our opinions on hotels in any of the cities you pass through in Spain. During the trip we take care of the details, allowing you to walk into the unknown while knowing that we will be there at the end of the day. During the trip we provide information on the distances we walk and the terrain ahead. We cover a few of the more important Camino de Santiago history lessons, and we provide maps of the day, detailing the path ahead.
