One of the things that motivated us the most to begin this exciting journey was being able to help disadvantaged individuals. For that reason, we decided to get the majority of our products handcrafted in Egypt by talented but underprivileged women. We had the blessing of getting to know these women and understand their needs and dreams. Being productive and self sufficient were some of these aspirations in a land where opportunities are extremely limited and difficult for women. Therefore, we made sure these women were provided a legitimate outlet to empower themselves as professionals by offering an opportunity to showcase their talent, craftsmanship and most importantly, to provide for their families while being independent and proactive. We strive to make a difference not only overseas, but in our community as well. Therefore, joining forces with non-profit charities was a logical path for us to pursue, so we are partnering nowadays with several organizations. One of these indispensable institutions is called HANDY. They provide counseling, guidance and support to children and teenagers in need. HANDY annually serves more than 1,300 at-risk children who participate in comprehensive programs that focus on education, youth development, and economic self-sufficiency. We are also proud collaborators and part of the committee for STARLIGHT Foundation's annual gala event. Starlight brings together experts from pediatric healthcare, technology and entertainment to create programs that help brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families. Unlike any other charity, they offer a comprehensive menu of outpatient, hospital-based and Web offerings that enable them to provide ongoing support for children and families — from diagnosis through the entire course of medical treatment. Whether it’s helping to pass long hours in a hospital, learning more about a disease or just having the chance to make special memories together as a family, Starlight’s programs help children and families cope with the challenges they face daily and we love being part of such an incredible institution. We also closely collaborate and relentlessly support other non-profit charities in our local community. We are actively looking forward to collaborate and support many more in the near future. These are some of the motives why Amoura prides itself in not just being a business but a way of generating social awareness and impact in many of the communities we interact with that are in need of aid. We firmly believe that if we all make a tiny little difference in someone’s life, the world would be a much better place. We strive to send an optimistic message by being an expression of hope and positivism to all of us as a whole, attempting to play our part in making a difference in society. If we can successfully improve at least one person’s life through our efforts, then it is certainly worth the attempt. Also a very ancient stone used for sculptures, vases and jars, its translucent qualities lends itself perfect for jewelry. The purest of the alabaster stones are snow-white but it is stained to obtain different colors. One of our most delicate designs is made in a beautiful lavender colors. The rarest of all is the black alabaster and it has a very distinct look to it. Alabaster is a popular stone because it is soft and easy to use in jewelry making. Ancient Egyptians used alabaster in many forms such as in small perfume bottles, oil jars and lamps.
