Anjali Sardeshmukh, has been a midwife since 2009. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Miami, and her midwifery education at the International School of Midwifery. She is currently licensed in the state of Florida. Since 2002, Anjali has been involved in health-care and community work, including a women’s youth health group in India, and childbirth preparation circles in Miami. Anjali is passionate about Birth Justice- bringing a social and reproductive justice perspective to bring about positive change in birthing. To this end, she is actively involved in her Miami community. Midwife Philosophy When a new elephant is to be born, all the mother elephants surround the birthing elephant making a circle around her to in the spirit of respectful community to protect, witness, and hold space. It is in this spirit, that I walk the path of midwifery in Love. I am honored to welcome our children in the nurturing tradition of midwifery, of gentle and safe birth, and to support you in your journey to motherhood and parenthood with joy and love. I also firmly believe that midwifery care should be accessible to all. This commitment includes providing sliding scale options, and providing respectful and sensitive care. Welcome to Amma Midwifery Amma Midwifery is a midwifery practice serving families in Miami-Dade and southern Broward counties. We provide support during the childbearing year, including pregnancy, birth, and well woman/person care. Each woman and baby is powerful and they have their own story. We honor this unique, and yet at the same time, universal journey.
