AEI is always looking for qualified engineers, designers, surveyors, and landscape architects to add strength and depth to our core team and accommodate our growing business. We believe in smart growth in our communities and within our organization. If you have the talent and desire to build a career that allows you to make a positive impact, there is no better place to start your journey than right here at AEI. AEI complies with applicable state and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment in every location in which the company has facilities. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, and transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training. AEI strongly believes in the value of diversity in the workforce. We strive to encourage and celebrate diversity within our Company. We seek to be inclusive – valuing and respecting individual differences and perspectives; fostering teamwork among community, and maximizing the skills and talents of all employees. We are committed to providing an environment of fairness and equitable treatment of all persons. Ben T. Quinn, Sr., PE, PLS is AEI’s founder and Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, Ben is responsible for oversight of the firm’s four offices to ensure that all projects are delivered in a timely and professional manner. AEI, with Ben at the helm from the beginning, has built its reputation and growth on the ability to consistently meet those objectives. He calls upon more than 50 years of first-hand experience on a multitude of projects of various types and complexities to mentor AEI’s employees and project teams. His ongoing “project” is to provide leadership in the execution of AEI’s Strategic Business Plan. This growth-focused document aims to provide stability for AEI’s employees and to preserve the firm’s reputation as a resource for AEI’s past, present, and future clients and partners. Ben’s involvement is by design since these are among the very principles upon which he founded and grew AEI in the early days. Ben is most proud of the lives of those employees and their families that have been touched by AEI through the years. He is especially proud and blessed to have his son, Ben T. Quinn, Jr., PE, and his daughter, Rhandi Q. Gallegos, PE, as an integral part of the AEI team. He enjoys serving on several outside board of directors, as well as taking on an active part for many years in his local church. Other than AEI, Ben’s passion has been traveling with his wife Diane and spending time with his family. As well as his traveling adventures, allowing him to live outside the box. He has climbed many mountains on three continents, completed ten marathons with his last being in 2012, riding motorcycles, Ben also enjoys riding bicycles outside the US, as well as other activities. Ben T. Quinn, Jr., PE serves as President of AEI from our Louisville, KY office. He also serves as Project Manager for several transportation-related projects, backed by more than 30 years of design experience that includes six years of practical training as a former employee of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Ben’s project experience ranges from full directional interchange designs on our nation’s interstates to new corridor projects and major widening roadway projects. In addition to roadway design, Ben is skilled in drainage design, traffic analysis, municipal utility design, and has arranged and organized most of AEI’s major teaming pursuits with other design firms and contractors. He is a schedule- and budget-oriented principal, who consistently keeps our design teams on schedule, within budget, and delivered with the clients’ best interests in mind. Ben’s passion is fueled by the challenge of pursuing new work opportunities with existing and new clients. He has steered the AEI ship during the transition from a small, family-owned, vertically managed business to a mid-sized, horizontally structured regional firm and concluded that the journey is about people. Ben has enjoyed watching the intellectual growth of AEI team members and also cultivating enduring friendships with both colleagues and competitors along the way. Ben is a man of faith, family, with a deep sense of appreciation that was formed by worldwide travel with his wife and children. This global perspective formed his belief in memories over possessions, respect for other cultures, and gratitude for the blessings in his own life. Outstanding performance on AEI's Geotechnical Services IDIQ contract with the USACE Louisville District, including a geophysical survey and mapping to support the design and construction of Veterans Administration Medical Center facility expansions in Canandaigua, New York, has garnered AEI its second consecutive Society of American Military Engineers Kentuckiana Post Excellence in Small Business Award for A/E Services. Don Pedigo, Dennis Mitchell, and Ben Quinn, Jr. (l-r) receive the award from incoming Post President Rick Wolf and outgoing Post President Ian Mitchell. While the value of these efforts is much less important than the desire to help, it demonstrates the generosity, compassion, and fellowship of AEI and its employees.
