Altico Trading LLC. was founded in 2013 with the goal of prioritizing clients’ trading needs and providing expert advice and reliable services to participants in the futures industry. Alonso Tomas, founder of Altico Trading and acting Head Trader, was born and raised in San Jose, capital of Costa Rica, one of Central America’s most lauded coffee producing nations. He attended University of Missouri on an athletic scholarship, there earning an undergraduate degree and an MBA. For 4 years Tomas traded grains on the open outcry trading floor of the Kansas City Board of Trade (KCBT) in Kansas City, MO. Over the next 8 years, Tomas acquired invaluable expertise while trading coffee and other commodity futures for a global trading desk developing strategies to optimize results in spite of historic market volatility. Tomas’ 12 years of firsthand experience in the futures business, including overcoming some of the coffee futures “C” market’s most unprecedented and demanding scenarios, afford him the necessary perspective with which to approach today’s diverse trading conditions.
