Christina is passionate about the nonprofit community and helping others. She uses her knowledge, experience, and passion, to help nonprofits acquire donors and donations, win grants, and increase their name recognition in the community. A former Legislative Aide to the Florida House of Representatives, Christina specialized in community outreach, constituent services, public policy research and state appropriations for various municipalities and non-profit organizations. Her office helped constituents find needed services linking them with nonprofit agencies in the area. There she learned about what nonprofits do, their needs, and how they help the community when government cannot. Wanting to help people in a larger capacity, she decided to take what she learned as an Aide and entered the nonprofit sector. Christina joined the executive staff at Broward Housing Solutions, as the Director of Development. There she raised needed revenue for the $3.5 million agency and secured over $50,000 from the Broward County Board of Commissioners for the organization’s Affordable Housing programs. As a grant writer, she had a 92% win rate. Christina increased the name recognition of the organization through her expertise in community outreach and advocacy to both elected officials and the public. A Fort Lauderdale resident, Christina serves on the boards of various non-profits and volunteers her time and talents with local organizations. She is especially fond of organizations with missions dedicated to helping those with Special Needs, women, and children, alleviating poverty, affordable housing, and mental health. Christina received the ‘2016 Rising Star’ award from the Broward County Women’s History Coalition, for her devotion to Women’s Rights, helping women and children living in poverty, and helping to end the stigma of mental illness.
