Sebastian also remains an active fundraiser for candidates at state and federal levels. Currently, Sebastian serves as the CEO and Chief Legislative Representative of The Aleksander Group, a legislative advocacy and consulting company based in Florida, with offices in West Palm Beach and Tallahassee. The firm represents clients before all branches of state and federal governments. Aleksander Group clients include local governments, state associations and multi-national corporations. Working closely with government agencies, the Florida Cabinet and legislative and gubernatorial commissions, The Aleksander Group provides strategic advice for legislative clients as well as multi-national companies involved in international trade and shipping, as well as consulting on federal and state transportation rules and regulatory compliance. Shortly after forming his company, Sebastian received the Best New Lobbyist Award from the Florida Association of Professional Lobbyists. Recently, The Aleksander Group was selected for the prestigious Seminole 100 list of the fastest-growing businesses in America owned by Florida State University alumni. In addition, Sebastian continues to serve as a close advisor to labor, municipal, and business leaders throughout South Florida and has consulted on and secured funding for major community development projects valued in millions of dollars. Internationally, Sebastian has successfully worked on client market entry strategies in the European Union and the Western Hemisphere. Prior to forming The Aleksander Group, Sebastian earned bachelor degrees in Management and in Multinational Business Operations from Florida State University, coupled with an MBA degree from Nova Southeastern University. With this solid foundation of knowledge, he secured roles on legislative staff and as a political director for a political leadership organization, in addition to a Chief Legislative Aide position for the Florida House Majority Leader. Subsequently, Sebastian served as a Special Assistant to Florida House Speaker Designate Marco Rubio, who currently serves as the United States Senator from Florida. Matthew Halme has more that 15 years of experience working on local, state and federal government issues. Matt holds a B.A. in history from UCLA and a J.D. from The Santa Barbara College of Law. He was Vice President of Government Affairs and Corporate Counsel of Bloomin’ Brands, Inc., for over 12 years overseeing all 50 states and Washington, DC. Additionally, Mr. Halme ran multiple local option elections and state constitutional amendment efforts resourcing focus groups and securing effective polling firms. Mr. Halme then accepted a position as Special Advisor to the Attorney General of Florida’s re-election campaign from 2013-2014. He was recruited from his post as Special Advisor to become the Senior Director of State Government Affairs and Public Policy at WellCare Health Plans, overseeing 16 states.
