Akal Global is the umbrella organization of Akal Security and Coastal International Security. These entities share centralized support services such as accounting and finance, human resources, contract administration, information technology and logistics as well as corporate officers and executives. Over the past the decades it has grown from a small local firm to one of the largest U.S. owned contract security companies in the United States. Started with a $1,200 loan from one of its founders, Akal has grown steadily by exceeding client expectations and remaining dedicated to service and employee development. The Akal Foundation was established in 2016 with the mission of ‘Serving Humanity’. The Akal Foundation currently provides resources for health and wellness projects supporting our New Mexico and broader communities.A notable project that we fund is the Food For Kids Program in Northern New Mexico, an Espanola Valley volunteer program providing food bags for the weekend to school children from low-income families. All funds contributed to the Akal Foundation is provided directly to the supported charity as Akal Security provides all of the administrative support to maintain the foundation. As we expand, we are looking at ways to support other educational and health related projects. Akal Security is an industry leader in designing and managing complex, multi-site security programs for the U.S. Government and Corporations, and is responsible for protecting critical government and industrial facilities. In 1992, Akal Security was awarded its first U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), Court Security Officer (CSO) program contract. Akal Security continues serving as the USMS’s longest continuous security provider for the CSO program. Akal once held over 90% of the USMS’s federal judicial Circuit contracts fielding and managing thousands of CSOs protecting hundreds of federal courthouses nationwide. Since the early 1990s threats and attacks targeting federal judges and courthouses have escalated dramatically. The USMS has consistently counted on Akal’s professional CSO workforce to quickly adapt to security changes in meeting the changing threat situation. Akal provides security and protective services to a number of other federal agencies. The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has entrusted Akal to secure some of the most active and sensitive military bases in America. Similarly, Akal has served the DHS Federal Protective Service (FPS) throughout the Pacific Rim, encompassing the state of Hawaii as well as the territories of Guam, American Samoa, and Northern Mariana Islands, protecting federal facilities. With an operational area where the distance between sites is greater than the distance across the continental United States, Akal consistently staffed these far-flung facilities, and mastered the logistical and human resourcing challenges. Akal supported the U.S. Department of State in having provided embassy security prior to and through the peak of the West African Ebola virus epidemic. With a security force of nearly 150 personal, including vetted foreign nationals, Akal adapted to the crisis by quickly strengthening management and human resources capabilities while imposing protective health care measures for employees and their families. Akal was able to provide continuity of security services throughout the crisis and prevented any members of the workforce contracting the virus. Airlines and airport vendors are subject to special security requirements, both internal and external.
