Aimsun Next works with most other planning, signal optimization and adaptive control software. Aimsun Next can import data from CONTRAM, EMME, VISUM, CUBE, TransCAD, SATURN, PARAMICS, VISSIM, GIS and CAD, which eliminates a lot of unnecessary editing of network and demand data. Aimsun Next has interfaces to SCOOT (by SIEMENS), TRANSYT 15 (by TRL), SCATS, UTOPIA and VS-PLUS, which enable accurate emulation of adaptive control in Aimsun Next simulations. Aimsun Next works on Mac OSX, Linux Ubuntu, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8 and 10. When it comes to expandability, Aimsun Next is second to none. Make Aimsun Next your own using familiar industry standards such as Python and C++ in four different ways: The Aimsun Microscopic Simulator Software Development Kit or microSDK enables you to override Aimsun’s behavioral models (car-following, lane-changing, etc.) and apply your own behavioral models, programmed in C++. The comparison between strategies described above relies on the ability of Aimsun Live to synthesise huge amounts of simulated data in unique performance indices. This allows control centre operators to review the future network status and choose the best strategy by consulting a series of concise, individually rated temperature maps. With access to individual vehicle delays, travel times, position, pollutant emissions, speed, route and many other characteristics, the measures of effectiveness can be as complex as you like. One of the key elements that makes Aimsun Live a unique solution for real-time forecasting and information provision is its rich and innovative combination of dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) techniques within the same simulation to give the most realistic representation possible of network behavior. Use Aimsun’s DTA model analysis results to evaluate many more meaningful measures related to individual travel time and cost, as well as system-wide network measures for regional planning purposes. To ensure the best possible forecasting accuracy, Aimsun Live includes a module that continuously compares forecast performances against field measurements received once the prediction period has passed. About Aimsun Aimsun company history Follow our journey from a university research lab team to an international mobility software and services company. Members of the former LIOS (Simulation and Operations Research Laboratory) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) develop a microsimulator prototype. This microsimulator is eventually named AIMSUN2 (Advanced Interactive Microscopic Simulator for Urban and Non-Urban Networks). The company, originally known as TSS-Transport Simulation Systems, is officially founded on 11th November 1997. Technical development continues at the university lab but TSS opens an office in c/Tarragona in Barcelona, with a tiny core team dedicated to commercializing the software.
