History of AGI Industries AGI Industries, is an industrial fluid handling products distributor, systems packager and specialty pump manufacturer founded in 1963 when founder, Albert L. George, decided to design and build a new line of hydraulic tongs for the oil and gas industry. While the project never developed, Albert found the local marketplace eager for fluid power products and technical expertise in the application of those products. In 1968 the company name changed from George Equipment & Engineering to Al George Incorporated. The company then expanded to include pump distribution, packaged pump systems and the manufacturing of high pressure triplex pumps and related components. The company formally became AGI Industries in 1998. Today AGI Industries consists of three divisions, AGI Industries, AGI Packaged Pump Systems, and Hydroplex and has expanded to include valve and valve automation products, flow, level temperature and pressure measurement, vapor and flame control, long term storage and preservation products, and electrical motors, drives, and controls.  In 2004 the principal shareholders established an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) allowing the ownership of the company to flow to the benefit of the employees and making each employee a stake holder in the growth and success of the company. Pulp, Paper & Wood Products AGI Industries (Distribution) AGI Industries is a multi-line stocking distributor of market leading pumps, mechanical seals, measurement and control products and other fluid handling accessories. These products include Centrifugal, Positive Displacement and Chemical Metering pumps along with related items such as pulsation dampeners, valves, tanks, level gauges and other ancillary items. With 10 branch offices in Louisiana, Texas, and New Mexico AGI Industries brings local solutions and support to the marketplace. AGI PPS, located in Lafayette, La. designs, engineers and builds process pumping systems for customers worldwide. Engineered products are built to the highest industry standards, involving complex documentation and material traceability. Each project is executed with stringent quality and safety management procedures and careful attention to detail. AGI Industries has factory authorized and certified service and repair centers in most branch locations. Supported by local parts inventory, repairs are completed to factory or API standards and can be customized per customer’s written request. Other services include: Founded in 1990, the Louisiana Chemical Industry Alliance (LCIA) is a partnership between plants and suppliers, representing more than 600 members with thousands of employees from Louisiana’s petrochemical industry and related businesses.  It is 22 years old and is governed by 12 top supplier/contractor executives and 11 chemical plant managers. The LCIA promotes the interests of the chemical industry and related businesses by impacting the legislative process, as well as regulatory agencies, to promote a healthy, globally competitive and growing contractor and supplier community. LCIA provides firepower and leverage in areas like grassroots advocacy before legislative and regulatory bodies, fundraising for LAMP, the political action committee, and ongoing contact with state and federal elected officials. In all, LCIA is a united voice of industrial plants and small business owners who are the “hometown” friends, voters, and suppliers working to make a living in the chemical/refining marketplace. The strength of the partnership means progress and survival for an industry providing jobs and maintaining a healthy, safe and high-quality of life for Louisiana citizens. AGI Industries is pleased to announce we are now the exclusive representative for Philadelphia Mixing Solutions, both top and side entry mixing products, for the states of LA and MS. We also welcome PMSL’s direct salesman, Joel Boudreaux, as Mixer Product Manager. Joel will be managing this product line and working with our sales teams to grow the business in the following markets: Oil and Gas, Mining and Minerals, Pulp and Paper, Industrial Water and Wastewater, Chemicals, Polymers, Power Generation, Food and Beverage, Paints and Coatings, Pharmaceuticals, Marine and Offshore.
