ADVANCED ATC, INC., Atlantic Beach

Advanced ATC, Inc. is a privately held company established in 2008. AATC’s founding partners are retired Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ATC managers. Our instructors are retired and active Air Traffic Controllers from the FAA, federal contractors, and military. Advanced ATC, Inc. (AATC) conducts the training to meet and exceed all FAA regulations under Part 65. In December 2008, Advanced ATC, Inc. and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, (formally known as Valdosta Technical College) formed a partnership to offer ATC training at their Valdosta campus. Advanced ATC also partnered with the Valdosta/Lowndes County Airport Authority and the City of Valdosta to operate the Valdosta Regional Airport Tower. This allows AATC the opportunity to provide practical experience for our students. AATC is dedicated to producing the most highly qualified Air Traffic Control applicants to the Federal Aviation Administration. Therefore, we conduct our training in an academy style. We recognize each student is a unique individual who deserves the best ATC program available. Our staff adheres to high standards, and is dedicated to our mission and to providing everything the student needs to succeed in the field of Air Traffic Control. Advanced ATC, Inc. is the creation of a common vision of its three founding partners. Their vision is driven by a passion to provide an expedient and efficient solution to the FAA’s current and projected Air Traffic Controller shortage. Their commitment is to provide a supportive and conducive environment to ensure every student’s greatest chance of success. This will be accomplished by providing a low student to instructor ratio, an intensive curriculum, and superior instructors along with the latest and best air traffic control tower simulation technology available in the market place today. Advanced ATC’s leadership is proud and grateful for their partnerships with Adacel Inc., Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and the Valdosta/Lowndes County Airport Authority. It is with their support and forward thinking that allows AATC to launch this exciting opportunity for young men and women interested in an Aviation Career. Imagine yourself trying to direct 260 tons of metal filled with both passengers and cargo through the middle of a storm. Air Traffic Controllers are responsible for the extremely important task of managing the safe and efficient flow of air traffic throughout the nation’s airspace. They navigate the airways by helping pilots maintain safe separation between their planes, find their way through fog and rough weather, and land safely at busy airports across the world. They also coordinate flights to prevent accidents and minimize delays in takeoffs and landings. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Department of Defense (DOD), and federal and private contract towers employ Air Traffic Controllers. Controllers can be found working in three basic specialties: Air Traffic Control Towers, Terminal Radar Approach Controls, and En Route Centers. Airport Tower Controllers are responsible for regulating airport traffic. They use two-way radios to give pilots permission to take off and land. They also direct ground traffic which includes taxiing aircraft, emergency vehicles, and airport workers. Tower controllers direct air traffic within approximately five miles from the airport. Add the business-friendly leadership of Grayson County, the proactive economic development organizations of surrounding communities, the foreign-trade-zone status, triple-freeport exemption, and the trajectory for aviation-related business becomes clear. Straight up. From executive business jets to general aviation hobbyists, Austin Executive Airport is home to more than 110 aircraft. With a state of the art FBO, pilots and passengers alike will feel welcomed into a first-class travel environment. Being established in 2018, it is our newest tower with the latest technology. We are proud of our control tower. Not only does it have a “retro 1940’s look” but in the overhaul process we upgraded it to the newest technology. The controllers love it and say it is the most modern equipped tower they have worked at. We have the largest arrival canopy in the world with around .75 of an acre to keep passengers covered from the hot Texas sun or occasional rain shower as they arrive. We are conveniently located on the west side of Houston. Interstate 10 provides a straight drive into downtown, major business centers, and the energy corridor. Valdosta Regional Airport was constructed in the early 1940’s as an auxiliary to Moody Field. It was declared surplus by the US Government December 8th, 1946, and became a public airport. In 1980, commercial commuter service to/from Atlanta was inaugurated. The airport consists of three runways, two of which may be used by current commercial aircraft. The airport is located 2.5 miles south of the Valdosta Central Business District. The commercial terminal, located on the northwest portion of the field, is a modern facility that was opened in 1998. The general aviation terminal is located off Madison Highway on the east side of the airport, where all general aviation activity takes place.
