Fred owned and operated a high end carpentry business specializing in conventional frame piling houses primarly on the barrier islands of Lee County in the 1970’s and 80’s. In 1983 Fred obtained his Division 1 Florida Building Contractors License.Combined, these two companies built and remodeled hundreds of structures in the service area.In 1992 Hurricane Andrew hit the South Florida coast of Florida and Fred became a private sector damage assessment and roof inspector in Dade County, Fl. While serving there he founded and subsequently opened Accredited Building Consultants, Inc. In 1994 Fred was announced president of the local  (LBIA) showing his commitment to the community and the construction industry. He has semi retired from his building contractors business, Sylvester Homes, Inc. but keeps his contractors license active. Combined, these two companies built and remodeled hundreds of structures in the service area. Fred also has an extensive background in Insurance The company’s customer care representative is she is a retired Florida Licensed Mortgage broker and retired Realtor. Nancy brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the business and customer service  making it very easy for clients to communicate their needs. Most other companies offer Infrared or Thermal Imaging Scans at an additional cost or not at all. Infrared technogly gives the inspector an added edge on diagnosing problems such as but not limited to; any type of water intrusion issues, electrical defects, insulation problems, HVAC defects and any other problems that can be detected by sensing radiant energy given off by objects. When I first started doing inspections over 25 years ago I wrote reports on a 12 page preprinted checklist format with NCR paper (carbon paper), no photographs and not much written narratively. Over the years this is has certainly changed due to computers and consumer demands. Today, both formats are used and many reports, including ours is a combination of both checklist and narrative styles.  Checklist side helps the inspector not forget to inspect the system(s) and may describe the inspected system(s) as; good, fair, in need of repair, or it was  inspected, needs maintenance,  needs repair or replacement or it was not inspected or not included. The narrative report style has more descriptive language which verbally describes conditions of the system(s), for more information on the different types of reporting styles please Our reports are written in a narrative easy to understand format custom tailored to the structure that is being inspected. Each major system(s) of the property as a separate section including an introduction with many helpful tips on how to maintain the components.
