Richard joined as Managing Director in 2004 when AB Vista was a business start-up, with the aim of making the company a top global player in the micro-ingredients industry. He sets the direction of the business and oversees all operations. Richard is a keen advocate of research into revolutionary feed micro-ingredients and has spent most of his 20 year career pioneering the use of enzymes in animal nutrition. His interest in animal nutrition was sparked by his upbringing on a Lancashire poultry farm. He went on to obtain a BSc in Animal Science at Reading University where he stayed on to achieve a MAgrSc in Tropical Agricultural Development which took him to Costa Rica and Egypt where he managed farms. As a keen sportsman, Richard spends much of his spare time out of doors and can regularly be seen out training for his next triathlon. He is also a qualified athletics coach, chairman of his local athletics club and was the first person to windsurf 2,000 miles around the British Isles coastline. Heidi is responsible for global registration of the AB Vista product portfolio and our supply chain. Heidi joined the AB Vista team in January 2008 as a Regulatory Manager, bringing over ten years’ experience of working in the feed additive industry. She was promoted to the AB Vista management team in January 2012. Heidi gained a PhD from the Food Science Department of Reading University, UK, on the characterisation of Jack Bean alpha-mannosidase (a plant enzyme). Since then, Heidi has worked in various positions within the animal feed industry, starting as an Enzyme Development Manager, moving into R&D and finally into regulatory. Mike oversees the development of enzyme and yeast products for use in ruminant and non-ruminant feeds. Previously Mike has gained experience working in the feed additives industry in research and development teams. Following his PhD in poultry nutrition and biochemistry at University of Guelph in Canada, Mike undertook two post doctorate posts in Canada in Molecular Biology and Poultry Nutrition. Since then, Mike has written or been involved with over 200 publications - including 76 refereed full scientific papers and 92 abstracts of material presented at conferences. Hadden is responsible for providing technical support to international customers. He grew up on a dairy farm in Ireland and obtained a PhD in Agricultural Biochemistry at The Queen’s University of Belfast. He spent 10 years in teaching and research in Animal Sciences at University College Dublin, Ireland, The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala and Montana State University, USA. Hadden gained over 15 years’ experience of working in the feed additive industry, in various research and technical positions, before joining AB Agri as Technical Director of the AB Vista Feed Ingredients Division in 2004. Hadden is responsible for technical support for the developing feed additives business worldwide. He is also the president of FEFANA (Association of European Feed Additive and Premixture Manufacturers). Marketing & Business Development Director Charlie coordinates AB Vista’s business development activities, investigating opportunities to bring new value to the business and our customers. He is also responsible for the growing ruminants business. Having gained a degree in Agricultural & Food Marketing from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, followed by an MBA from Kingston Business School, Charlie began his professional life working with a feed ingredients conglomerate. Charlie brings with him a wealth of experience in sales, marketing and corporate development, gained across a variety of industries. Business Development & ASPAC Director Ari develops the global sales infrastructure for AB Vista products. He has a proven track record for establishing international sales networks that have led to successful business growth and expansion. Being based in Madrid, Ari has particular focus on the Europe, Middle East and Africa and South Asia regions. Ari is one of the original team who established the company before its official launch as AB Vista in 2006. Dieter graduated from Viçosa Federal University with a Masters in Animal Science, specialising in monogastric nutrition. Having worked for international feed ingredients companies and a Brazilian premix company, Dieter has extensive experience in the poultry and swine feed industry, including nutrition, technical services, sales and marketing. Dieter joined AB Vista in 2006 as Regional Director for Latin America, at the start of our project to launch in that region. Ian is responsible for driving commercial change within the business. This includes implementing and managing financial and IT systems infrastructure to support AB Vista’s desire to become a top global feed additive business. Ian gained a degree in Maths, Economics and Statistics from the University of Birmingham before going on to train as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen. With 21 years of financial experience gained in a variety of industries ranging from retail to aircraft manufacture, Ian has built up an extensive knowledge to draw upon when leading the AB Vista finance team. Ian started with the ABF group in 2002 following his appointment as Finance Director of Ryvita before joining AB Vista in January 2009. Charlotte is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources at AB Vista, with particular focus on strengthening our UK and overseas talent base to support the continued growth of the business. Previously Executive Development Manager for our parent company Associated British Foods, Charlotte also worked in a range of key HR Management roles at our sister company Twinings. Prior to this she held a number of senior HR positions in the pharmaceutical, chemical and automotive sectors. She holds Master’s Degrees in both HR Management and People and Organisational Development.
