A Mom’s Helping Hand of SWFL Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting single mothers and their families in Southwest Florida. Recognizing the significant challenges faced by single-parent households, where both parents are often needed to work multiple jobs, the organization offers practical support aimed at building strong and stable lives through resources, education, training, and life skills. Founded in 2015 and incorporated by Kristen Peterson, a native of Meriden, CT with a Bachelor’s degree from Post University, A Mom’s Helping Hand serves as a vital community resource. Its mission is centered on providing essential household items and connecting families to local resources through a comprehensive referral network. The organization prides itself on being an initiative led by single mothers for single mothers. Operating out of Cape Coral in Lee County, FL, the nonprofit facilitates programs that empower mothers to meet their family's daily needs while encouraging community involvement through volunteerism and fundraising events. Kristen Peterson not only leads as President but also serves full-time with Lee County and actively participates in her children’s extracurricular activities. By receiving donations like $45 contributions, which cover a month's supply of vital household necessities for typical families of four, the organization strives to make tangible impacts on the lives they assist.
