8 Flags Playscapes, Inc., a non-profit champion for inclusive play areas, aims to make outdoor recreation available and enjoyable for everyone. As a tax-exempt organization, it welcomes charitable contributions that fuel its mission. Founded in October 2011 on Amelia Island, Florida, under the guidance of Stefani Beddingfield from Freedom Playground, 8 Flags Playscapes carries forward the tradition of enhancing community spaces with play areas. It gained attention through initiatives like the celebrated Pirate Playground project launched in 2014. The Egans Creek Park Expansion saw its first phase completed in 2015 after two years of diligent work. Now in Phase 2, the project introduces a fitness zone for kids and teens. The organization actively involves the community by inviting ideas for sculptures at Egans Creek Park. These designs are chosen with advice from the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAA). The park is set to officially open in late September once construction finishes. Under the guidance of Trey Warren, President; Sharyl W. Wood as Treasurer; and Aaron Morgan as Director, 8 Flags Playscapes remains dedicated to its cause. Recent updates include a corporate amendment noted on May 23, 2012, with their latest annual report from January 14, 2024, showcasing their ongoing commitment to enhancing play spaces for communities.
