8 Flags Playscapes, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to creating universally accessible recreational spaces where playing is an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all community members. As a tax-exempt entity, the organization is eligible to receive charitable donations to support its mission. Originally mentored by Stefani Beddingfield (formerly of Freedom Playground), 8 Flags Playscapes was established in October 2011 in Amelia Island, Florida, to continue the legacy of enriching community spaces. The organization achieved recognition with its successful Pirate Playground project commenced in 2014 and continued to make strides with the Egans Creek Park Expansion Phase 1, which opened after two years of development in 2015. Phase 2 is currently underway, introducing a fitness area for children and teens. Encouraging community involvement, 8 Flags Playscapes invites concept submissions from individuals or groups for sculptures at Egans Creek Park, with selections made in consultation with the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAA). The park's dedication is slated for late September, pending construction timelines determined post-design selection. Operating under the leadership of Trey Warren as President, along with Sharyl W. Wood as Treasurer and Aaron Morgan as a Director, 8 Flags Playscapes continues to foster community spirit through its initiatives. As per its latest update on May 23, 2012, related to corporate amendments, and confirmed by its annual report from January 14, 2024, the organization remains steadfast in achieving its vision of enriching community recreational facilities.
