Welcome to 2Tall Racing We at 2Tall Racing have designed, tested and manufactured complete bolt on kits which raise the sub frame, tank and handle bars in proportion to one another to accommodate those taller riders. If you were to walk into a cycle shop and purchase a mountain bike or road cycle, your not going to purchase a bicycle with a frame that doesn’t fit you. So why should a dirt bike which is usually more expensive be any different? Our mission is to even the chances for taller riders whether it be on the track, trial or street. Very simply, we at 2Tall Racing are all 2Tall for a standard motorcycle. Are we huge? No. We stand around the 6’1”/6’2” range and although women favor this quality, the same certainly cannot be said within the sport of motocross. To produce the prototype was not an easy task and many man-hours were put into each frame. Each bike included an all-new frame, altered sub frame, new intake boot, extended seat (100mm), fully adjustable handle bar clamps and many more cosmetic changes to make the bike look good. The changes raised the bike 70mm (foot peg to seat), 100mm longer seat and 40mm longer wheelbase. The steering head was made adjustable at first to test what best suit the changes to the frame however after extensive testing, we were able to conclude that the standard steering angle was the perfect fit for the bike. Shortly after, we came across Daniel Luckfeldt who was working for KTM at that time. Being a tall man himself Daniel heard about the project and contacted us. Daniel recognized the problem we were trying to solve and showed interest in helping us to move forward. He convinced KTM to look into our project and they were showing great interest in beginning however as the emails continued to exchange, we noticed the interest was decreasing to which Luckfeldt informed us that KTM did not have the time and budget to continue with our project. 2Tall Racing only supplies kits for KTM bikes and are developing kits for the Husqvarna as these motorcycles use a lot of the same parts through their range. The handlebar clamps were designed in a way not only to lift the handlebars, but also move them forward. This allows taller riders to sit more forward (middle of the bike) and have more room on the bike to maneuver. This will put the rider in a position where he will have the right amount of front wheel pressure. One of the main problems by raising handlebars on dirt bikes is that it positions the rider more to the rear. This happens because of the backward angle of the triple clamps. So not only does the length of the rider bring him or her more backwards but also the angle of the triple clamps when you raise the handlebars. This results in more weight being distributed to the rear of the bike. These clamps allow four different positions (Standard, 1 step forward, 1 step backwards, 2 step backwards). We also provide two 5mm spacers to adjust the height. We made no modifications to the foot pegs, as we believe lowering them is a disadvantage on rough and rutty tracks. We do believe in foot pegs that are sitting in the same position but are lowered from the top of the peg. This is something we would recommend in combination with the 2Tall ‘Space Kit’. The 2Tall Racing Space Kit will really make the rider feel like he/she is riding a bigger bike. Proportionally you cannot compare Space Kit concept to a taller seat. As you can see from the stickmen drawings above, the tall person on the 2Tall Racing Kit has his knees at the same spot on the shrouds as the standard person on a standard bike. This can never be achieved with a higher seat. This is the position to which the plastics are designed for. Another huge benefit of raising the bike the way we do is that it keeps the shape and angles of the seat, which cannot be achieved with taller seats without changing the shape. Taller seats need more foam, this means that although you may think your achieving the height needed, the extra foam causes the seat to become softer and as a result you will lose the height you thought you achieved. A majority of taller riders will be heavier and as a result will sink further into the soft foam. Aside from the technical advantages of a kit in comparison to a higher seat, the rider will look more in proportion to the bike.
